Discovery Walks April-September (3rd Wednesdays) 3pm-4pm
Visitors will tour the gardens with Lakewold staff and volunteers, discussing seasonal changes, new additions and future plans. Discovery walks are significantly different than docented tours as there is a central, seasonal theme to each walk. Time is allowed for seasonal questions. Enjoy these walks every third Wednesday of each month: April 17th, May 15th, June 19th, July 17th, August 21st and September 18th. Standard Lakewold admission fees apply. Please meet at The Garden Shop for a prompt 3pm start time. No reservations required. For more information please contact Mark Lyke at 253.584.4106, x111.
Rainier League of Arts June 12th-16th, 10 am-4 pm
With a splash of color here and a splash of color there, over 20 artists will be on display featuring various forms of artwork in the lower Wagner House. The Rainier League of Arts joins Lakewold again this year to demonstrate its variety of art for all to see. Standard Lakewold admission fees apply.
Annual Rhodie Deadhead Work Party June 8th 8:30 am-12 pm
As Lakewold prepares for summer, our annual mass-deadheading of the rhodies beckons volunteers to reach out and lend a hand. This work party is a great way to get involved and meet other volunteers and have a great time beautifying our beloved gardens. Participants will meet at 8:30 am at the kitchen of The Wagner House for a “thank you” complimentary breakfast. To participate, phone 253.584.4106.
Second City Chamber Series June 20th and July 18th
Twice a year, some of the Northwest’s finest musicians come together to perform intriguing, challenging, and entertaining chamber music in The Wagner House. Have a front row, sit under the wisteria covered verandah or maybe throw a blanket out on the grass while relaxing to the moving sound of Second City Chamber Series. These events are guaranteed to both enrich and delight all music lovers. Please visit www.scchamberseries.org for additional information or to purchase tickets.
Independence Day July 4th Gardens are closed for the holiday.
