Open for Spring/Summer Season April 3rd-September 29th

Lakewold and the newly refurbished former Garden Shop are open for the spring and summer garden touring season Wednesday-Sunday from 10 am - 4 pm. Come see our new shop, in continuing progress, and make sure to visit throughout the season as we expand offerings throughout the estate. General Admission is $9 per person. Senior/Student/Military admission is $6 per person. Members of Lakewold and children 12 and under receive free admission.

Volunteer Wednesdays April-September, 9 am-Noon

Don’t mind getting your hands a bit dirty? Need a project or have some time to share while enjoying the outdoors? Come help out in the garden for a few hours each Wednesday morning. Lakewold’s Garden Team will work alongside you and others interested in gardening activities. No experience required. Educational opportunities too! Come join us and experience Lakewold in a different way. For more information, phone 253.584.4106.


Discovery Walks April-September (3rd Wednesdays) 3pm-4pm

Visitors will tour the gardens with Lakewold staff and volunteers, discussing seasonal changes, new additions and future plans. Discovery walks are significantly different than docented tours as there is a central, seasonal theme to each walk. Time is allowed for seasonal questions. Enjoy these walks every third Wednesday of each month: April 17th, May 15th, June 19th, July 17th, August 21st and September 18th. Standard Lakewold admission fees apply. Rainier League of Arts June 12th-16th, 10 am-4 pm

With a splash of color here and a splash of color there, over 20 artists will be on display featuring various forms of artwork in the lower Wagner House. The Rainier League of Arts joins Lakewold again this year to demonstrate its variety of art for all to see. Standard Lakewold admission fees apply.

Annual Rhodie Deadhead Work Party June 8th 8:30 am-12 pm

As Lakewold prepares for summer, our annual mass-deadheading of the rhodies beckons volunteers to reach out and lend a hand. This work party is a great way to get involved and meet other volunteers and have a great time beautifying our beloved gardens. Participants will meet at 8:30 am at the kitchen of The Wagner House for a “thank you” complimentary breakfast. To participate, phone 253.584.4106.

Second City Chamber Series June 20th and July 18th

Twice a year, some of the Northwest’s finest musicians come together to perform intriguing, challenging, and entertaining chamber music in The Wagner House. Have a front row, sit under the wisteria covered verandah or maybe throw a blanket out on the grass while relaxing to the moving sound of Second City Chamber Series. Independence Day July 4th Gardens are closed for the holiday.

Bridal Tasting with Occasion’s Catering July 23th 5 pm-8 pm

Developed by Occasion’s Catering, this tasting at Lakewold Gardens gives engaged couples the opportunity to visit and view a wedding setting while enjoying a bridal menu of delectables and meeting selected vendors. If you are getting married and want to explore a few vendor options and see the gardens set as a wedding venue, contact Cathryn at Occasion’s, 360.943.9393 to make your reservation.

Summer Nights August-Wednesdays Open until 8pm

Bring a picnic and experience the gardens on a summer evening or grab the family for a mid-week outing and take advantage of the beautiful calm that embraces these 10-acres as day becomes night. Standard admission fees apply.

Picnic with Purpose August 28th 4:30 pm-7:00 pm

This annual open-house and picnic gives staff and board members the opportunity to introduce our newest members to all that the garden has to offer and to say “thank you” to our dedicated volunteers. For information or to reserve your spot, please email Stephanie at swalsh@lakewoldgardens.org.

BeautifulTablesBeautiful Tables Showcase October 24th-27th 10 am-4 pm

Our Beautiful Tables Showcase is the perfect opportunity to see the colorful fall foliage of the gardens and kick-off the holiday season. This is a fabulous time to visit The Wagner House when it is decked out in over 30 themed “beautiful” table settings. This event inspires visitors with creative ideas to continue the tradition of entertaining at home.$7 Lakewold Member $12 Non-Member. No pre-reservations required. Lakewold’s 2nd Annual Member Meeting November 7th 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

Last year’s first event had several surprises as Garden Writer Marianne Binnetti joined us for an evening of announcement, accomplishment, and acknowledgement. Along with the presentation of Lakewold’s new Lifetime Inspiration Award, this Member Meeting is sure to be filled with as many surprises as last year. Special guests and program to be announced in the coming months.

Holiday Season December, 2013

Interested in holding your Holiday Party at Lakewold Gardens? From gala affairs, to smaller intimate gatherings for your business or maybe just family and friends, the Wagner House is decorated for the holidays to spread good cheer!
