Spend the day visiting our neighbor to the north, Tacoma. Just 10 miles away you'll find the renowned Museum of Glass and Contemporary Art, the Tacoma Art Museum and the Washington State History Museum all within walking distance of each other. For an outdoor treat, visit Point Defiance Park, home to the park's zoo and aquarium plus some fine garden treasures–one being The Northwest Native Plant Garden. A drive to Point Defiance Park will take you along Tacoma's popular Ruston Way Waterfront Park. For a night out, see what's playing at any of the Broadway Center's three fine Performance Theaters.

Another wonderful day trip is Mt. Rainier National Park. In less than two hours you'll be standing on the second tallest mountain in North America. Along the way you'll also

find Northwest Trek. A tram tour through this 715-acre park brings you face to face with free-roaming elk, bison, deer, bighorn sheep and moose. Many other native species can be seen in the park's walk-through displays.

Two other mountain adventures are Crystal Mountain, which offers some of the region's best skiing and spectacular views at the top of its year-round chair lift, and Mt. St. Helens, which gives you a rare opportunity to view the dramatic volcanic landscape.
